Welcome to Micareerhub

MiCareerHub provides a technology-based online learners’ support platform, established for all learners in South African Schools (ie on-site or home-based) and in Community Education Training Centres to have access to supported self-study, online extra lessons for subjects, and awareness, guidance, and mentorship about the careers available in the country’s economy. 

All careers, related professional bodies and applicable institutions of higher learning and training have been professionally organised for the learners to navigate and explore on the platform, and receive supported guidance. Critical and scarce skills careers in high-demand are also displayed.

The recent international survey revealed that numeracy and reading skills of learners at primary schools and high schools are a huge problem in South Africa. Therefore, if unattended, it contributes to the high-drop out rate of learners, and it also affects the quality of learners’ exams results. It also negatively impacts on the admission rate of learners to tertiary education institutions and ultimately their future employability.

Micareer is a learner-support centre with the right educational solution aimed at improving the quality of learners academic performance and exam results for both primary and high school learners.

What you can expect to benefit from Micareerhub platform

Foundation Phase – CAPS & IEB (Grades 1- 3)

  • Access to a technology-driven, online extra lessons and quizzes, gaming-learning platform to improve learning and school performance on Maths, Afrikaans, English and Life Skills;
  • The platform is accessible both online and offline using a smartphone, laptop or tablet, anywhere and anytime.
  • Access to elibrary with books to promote national self-learning and reading skills;
  • Access to video lessons and study notes;
  • Access to practice questions with answers: 
  • Ability to complete practice exam questions and receive instant results;
  • Enables parents to monitor academic progress and performance of their child using the app, and take immediate intervention where necessary;
  • Enables teachers to monitor the learning and academic performance of the learner and implement supportive intervention where necessary;
  • Enables parents to compare their child’s individual academic performance on a leaderboard against other learners using the platform; 
  • Provides learners with academic performance rewards to encourage them to excel in their work; and
  • Provides opportunities for learners to enjoy both self-study and teacher-supported elearning lessons.

Intermediate Phase – CAPS & IEB (Grades 4- 6)

  • Access to a technology-driven, online extra lessons and quizzes, gaming-learning platform to improve learning and academic performance on Maths, Afrikaans, English, Natural Science, History and Geography (in either English or Afrikaans); 
  • The platform is accessible both online and offline using a smartphone, laptop or tablet, anywhere and anytime.
  • Access to elibrary with books to promote national self-learning and reading skills;
  • Access to video lessons and study notes;
  • Access to practice questions with answers: 
  • Ability to complete practice exam questions and receive instant results;
  • Enables parents to monitor academic progress and performance of their child using the app, and take immediate intervention where necessary;
  • Enables teachers to monitor the learning and academic performance of the learner and implement supportive intervention where necessary;
  • Enables the learner to compare their academic performance on a leaderboard against other learners using the platform;

  • Access to elibrary with books to promote national self-learning and reading skills;
  • Access to digital exam focused Answer Series study guides (Gr8 & Gr9 only);
  • Access to video lessons and study notes;
  • Access to practice questions with answers: 
  • Ability to complete practice exam questions and receive instant results;
  • Enables parents to monitor academic progress and performance of their child using the app, and take immediate supportive intervention where necessary;
  • Enables teachers to monitor the learning and academic performance of the learner and implement supportive intervention where necessary;

Further Education and Training (FET) Phase – CAPS & IEB (Grades 10 -12) – Includes Matric Rewrite Learners

  • Access to a technology-driven, online extra lessons and quizzes, gaming-learning platform to improve learning and academic performance on Consumer Studies, Business Studies, Accounting, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Life Sciences, Economics, Physical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, History, Geography, Advanced Mathematics, English Home Language, English FAL and Afrikaans FAL;  
  • The platform is accessible both online and offline using a smartphone, laptop or tablet, anywhere and anytime.
  • Access to elibrary with books to promote national self-learning and reading skills;
  • Access to digital exam focused Answer Series study guides;
  • Access to video lessons and study notes;
  • Access to practice questions with answers: 
  • Ability to complete practice exam questions and receive instant results;
  • Access to practice questions with answers, and exam questions with answers;
  • Access to exam Preparatory guides and past exam papers with memos;

Learners in the Senior Phase and FET Phase have access to Career Awareness, Advice and Guidance on:

  • Critical and Scarce skills careers in high demand;
  • Available careers and occupations in the various sectors of the economy;
  • Various professions and professional bodies;
  • Career focused Grade 9 school subject choices and selection thereof;
  • Available post-school study options and programmes;
  • Information on all institutions of higher learning in the country ( Universities; TVET Colleges; Private universities and colleges);
  • Various post-school study fields, qualifications, and entry admission requirements;
  • The professional qualifications and the relevant academic qualifications in high demand within the economy;
  • Opportunities and options to pursue studies abroad, and funding for international study programmes;
  • Information on various study funding options and financial aid opportunities for both local and international students (bursaries; scholarships; study loans; NSFAS);
  • University application opening and closing dates;
  • Support for Matriculants on their applications and registration for higher education and training studies on time before closing dates and deadlines;
  • Information on National Benchmark Tests(NBT) and APS Scores;
  • Access to educational psychologists, and career-based educational assessments;
